Message from the Clerk of the Finance Committee

Dear Friends,

Sidwell Friends relies on your generosity. Your support, both through volunteerism and philanthropy, makes a difference in our ability to offer an exceptional education rooted in Quaker values for generations to come.

We are delighted to share that in the 2024/25 school year, the School’s financial position has continued to strengthen:

• We remain on time and on budget with our renovation of the future Upper School.
• The Together We Shine campaign received a $10 million challenge gift from a generous anonymous alum. As we enter the culminating phase of the campaign, we are excited to share that we are 86 percent of the way to our cumulative goal of $220 million.
• As of June 2025, the market value of the endowment was more than $92 million. A healthy endowment is crucial to the long-term financial health of the School. Investment income becomes resources for financial aid, faculty salaries and professional development, and other needs.
• The Sidwell Friends Fund provided more than $3.8 million in immediate support for the School’s highest priorities including financial aid and student experiences. This total included the incredible $750,000 raised for Founder’s Day for Scholars by nearly 600 donors and sponsors.
